  • My first cosplay ever for @phoenixfanfusion! I don't play too many video games, but I've been obsessed with Katamari Damancy ever since it came out 20 years ago. But a true Prince of All Cosmos costume would've been so unwieldy walking around during a convention like this, so this is what I came up with. How did I do?
  • Played The Rats of Wistar last weekend! What an adorable game that's super duper crunchy! The rats have escaped the lab and, using their smart brains, they just want to build out their colonies with the use of their workers. I love the action wheel selection of this game. It rotates each turn and the strength of your main action is based on how many workers are in the area. You can also take a secondary action, which is based on the space you place your chief. Lastly, the artwork is so cute, too, especially when you start looking at the home-improvement and technology cards. Those rats are so industrious! The goal of the game is to collect items and cards and increase your reputation from cruising, so that you can throw fabulous parties and score joy, which makes the gay community thrive. But as more and more parties happen, threats also increase and the constables will raid a molly house. The characters in this game were real historical people, some of them getting sentenced and put to death. Our game ended with joy, except that my character got indicted and died. Before this game getting designed and published, I had no idea about this subculture, and I love that newer historical games are touching upon underrepresented topics! The designer of this game was originally finalist for a Zenobia Award, which is a competition and mentoring board game design program that seeks out diverse topics and designers.   • In my first foray into the Undaunted series, I learned Undaunted 2200: Callisto tonight! My buddy and I played two scenarios, and I can't wait to play even more! My first game was a little rough understanding how all the card actions moved your troops along, but by the second scenario, I felt like a formidable foe in our close game. I actually own Undaunted: Normandy but haven't had a chance to play it. Now I feel more comfortable being able to teach it to someone else! What an intense hidden movement game in which the Allies (me) were trying to find the WWII German fleet that included the Bismark! The ocean is so vast and sometimes the weather did not cooperate and limited our visibility. We took up a giant table at Mox Boarding House because we needed so much room to put up our shields, so that we couldn't see each other's maps. Plus naval combat was a doozy with the ship zones, and the game had like a million chits! 😂 Thanks, Cory, for teaching me the game!   • Got a chance to teach and play one of my absolute favorite games today: Trickerion! It had been a couple of years since I busted out my copy (complete with the Meeple Realty wooden inserts that make setup and cleanup so easy). I love pre-programming my moves and sending out your workers into the city or placing tricks into the theater. The timing is everything! In between singing that old classic "Downtown" to making Arrested Development jokes about illusions, a good time was had by all at game day. 🎩💎 Can't wait to get the metal coins and the newest expansion from their latest Kickstarter! . . . #boardgamegeek #boardgamegeek #bgg #boardgamesofinstagram #tabletopgames #gamergirl #j2s #juegodemesa #mindclashgames

In my first foray into the Undaunted series, I learned Undaunted 2200: Callisto tonight! My buddy and I played two scenarios, and I can't wait to play even more! My first game was a little rough understanding how all the card actions moved your troops along, but by the second scenario, I felt like a formidable foe in our close game. I actually own Undaunted: Normandy but haven't had a chance to play it. Now I feel more comfortable being able to teach it to someone else!
